Last month we introduced you to The Identify Function of the NIST Cyber Security Framework [Video]the NIST Cyber Security Framework, which was designed to help guide an organization in creating its cyber security plan. The framework is based on existing standards, guidelines, and best practices to help organizations better manage and reduce cyber security risk while fostering communications among both internal and external organizational stakeholders. The framework is broken down into five major function areas: Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond, and Recover. In this video we will discuss the first function area - the Identify function - and how businesses leveraging the framework can manage their assets, begin to identify potential vulnerabilities, and truly understand their business impact.
