As Kreischer Miller’s Director of Quality Control, Melissa is tasked with ensuring firm compliance with quality control and professional standards, including American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), is maintained per quality control standards in all aspects of client engagements. She oversees the implementation of new accounting standards and assists teams with technical accounting matters. Melissa is also responsible for establishing policies and procedures to reduce risk and increase the quality of services throughout the firm. She does this by performing engagement quality reviews, internal inspections, coordinating external peer reviews, and monitoring continuing education (CPE) compliance.
Background
Melissa joined Kreischer Miller in 2021. Prior to working for Kreischer Miller, Melissa was a Director in Deal Advisory – Accounting Advisory Services (AAS) at KPMG, LLP in Philadelphia, PA, where her responsibilities included assisting public and private companies with technical accounting matters, specifically Leases and Consolidation. Prior to transferring to the AAS practice in 2017, she worked at KPMG, LLP as a Senior Manager, providing auditing services to U.S. registered and private mutual funds.
