Areas of Specialization

MaKayla is a Manager in Kreischer Miller’s Talent Acquisition group and plays a key role in ensuring that Kreischer Miller is the employer of choice for prospective candidates. As a recruiting expert, MaKayla uses her leadership skills to identify top talent, make lasting connections, develop the firm’s future leaders, and employ effective retention strategies.

MaKayla’s primary focus is developing relationships with students studying accounting, finance, and other related business majors at several colleges and universities. She is the face of Kreischer Miller on college campuses and at local high schools, which provides her with the unique experience of interacting with students, faculty, staff, and career service leaders on a regular basis and assisting in promoting the firm’s employment opportunities. MaKayla assesses candidates and interviews them for externship programs, internship opportunities, and employment upon graduation. MaKayla also spends time on campus as an adjunct professor for La Salle University’s Business school and teaches an undergraduate course in business professionalism and career readiness.

Since joining Kreischer Miller, MaKayla has increased internship opportunities by creating a summer internship program. She also established a campus ambassador program to create more touchpoints on local college campuses. Kreischer Miller’s in-house and off-site recruiting opportunities are continually being revamped as the firm adapts to the ever-changing trends and needs in the accounting industry.

MaKayla is a member of Kriescher Miller’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) council, as well as its women’s network, RISE (Retaining, Investing in, Supporting, and Empowering the Women of Kreischer Miller).

Background

MaKayla joined Kreischer Miller in 2021. Prior to working for Kreischer Miller, MaKayla was Head Field Hockey Coach at La Salle University in Philadelphia, PA, where her responsibilities included fielding, training, and competing at the NCAA Division I Field Hockey level, as well as managing, hiring, and overseeing assistant coaches and support staff. She oversaw and prepared all budgetary information, including fundraising, athletic scholarships, travel budgets, and operating budgets.

MaKayla managed, recruited, and oversaw student-athletes during their 4+ years at La Salle. She was tasked with creating and enforcing team guidelines and policies and fostering a team culture that aligned with the university’s mission, vision, and core values. Throughout her career, MaKayla has been passionate about leading, developing, and empowering others.
