HORSHAM, PA, December 11, 2017 — Kreischer Miller, a leading independent accounting, tax, and business advisory firm serving the Greater Philadelphia and Lehigh Valley areas, is pleased to announce that Stephen W. Christian was named the recipient of the 2017 Edward Town Taws Community Service Award from the Boy Scouts of America’s Cradle of Liberty Council. The award ceremony took place on December 5th at a reception at Huntingdon Valley Country Club.
For the past 40 years, the Edward Town Taws Community Service Award has been presented annually to a local community leader who exemplifies the ideals of the Boy Scouts of America, as expressed in the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives. Recipients are chosen for their outstanding community service as evidenced by the interest and leadership provided to many worthwhile organizations, as well as the respect and esteem in which they are held by their colleagues and other professionals.
Stephen W. Christian is a Director with Kreischer Miller and served as the firm’s Managing Director from 2002-2017. During his tenure as Managing Director, the firm grew into the largest locally-owned accounting, tax, and advisory firm in the Greater Philadelphia region and one of the largest firms in the U.S. The firm has been recognized multiple times as a Best of the Best Accounting Firm by INSIDE Public Accounting and a Top Workplace by philly.com. Also during Stephen’s tenure as Managing Director, the firm implemented its Kreischer Miller Cares program, a year-round initiative to give back to the community and those in need. Stephen has also served in leadership roles in numerous business, professional, and community organizations, including most recently President Elect of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, as well as the Board of Directors of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
