HORSHAM, PA, June 7, 2018 — Kreischer Miller, a leading independent accounting, tax, and business advisory firm serving the Greater Philadelphia and Lehigh Valley areas, is pleased to announce that Stephen W. Christian was elected President of the Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs (PICPA) at its 121st Annual Meeting held on Monday in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
During his remarks, Steve talked about the technological advancements and shifting demographics that have significantly increased the pace of change in the accounting profession. While he accepts that this is a major challenge, he also believes that current and future CPAs will adapt to these changes and create further opportunities for the profession. “The expectations and value of a CPA are changing along with the requisite skill sets necessary to be successful,” he said. “The leadership of our profession has an opportunity to have a profound impact on the future of CPAs. We need to continue to work hard to communicate and deliver our value proposition in order to demonstrate that our profession offers solid long-term career opportunities.”
Steve is a Director with Kreischer Miller and served as the firm’s Managing Director for more than 15 years. He has over 40 years of experience providing business advisory, accounting and auditing, and tax services to privately-held businesses in a number of industries. An active PICPA member, Steve serves as a member of the Budget and Finance Committee and the Pennsylvania CPA Foundation Board. In addition, he serves on the Governing Council of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
