Maxine Romano is a Director in Kreischer Miller’s Audit and
Accounting Group. Her expertise is in not-for-profit
organizations. Maxine has extensive experience with the auditing
and reporting requirements under OMB Circular A-133 (single audits),
the Department of Public Welfare, various State departments and the
City of Philadelphia. Maxine has provided significant guidance
to her clients with governance related policies and procedures,
as well as providing her clients’ accounting departments assistance
in streamlining their systems for greater efficiency, effectiveness
and internal controls. Maxine also serves as an instructor for
Kreischer Miller’s in-house professional training seminars and
serves as editor in chief of Kreischer Miller’s not-for-profit
newsletter. Maxine received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from
Temple University and began her career at Deloitte in Philadelphia
where her clients included for profit businesses, not-for-profit
organizations and government entities.
Maxine is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public
Accountants (AICPA), the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public
Accountants (PICPA), and the Association of Fundraising
Professionals (AFP). She is an active board member of the Institute
of Management Accountants and is past president of the North Penn
Chapter of the IMA. Maxine currently serves as Treasurer of Child,
Home and Community in Doylestown, PA.
Maxine enjoys traveling, biking and hiking. She supports
recruiting efforts associated with Temple University and Temple
Alumni Association and often participates and volunteers at client
activities and special events.
